Jordan Sampson
Jordan Sampson is a photographer based in New York. After his father gave him a shot as an assistant camera operator for his production company at 11-years-old, Jordan understood the power a camera can hold. Today he utilizes street and documentary photography as a way for others to see his perspective, as he'd previously found it challenging to do so through conversation. Inspired by the photography that helped push the Black Arts Movement, he seeks to share the stories of black and other marginalized communities through image making. He's had photograph's displayed in gallery exhibitions in Washington, D.C. and New York City, and even had a short film Haunt Me, which he wrote and directed, screen in short film festivals, proving he can't be contained to a singular medium. Away from his camera, he may be spotted hunting for steals on photo books, Criterion DVDs, and vinyl records, unless it's Sunday, when he can be found parked on his couch hoping his Baltimore Ravens don't let him down.
